The new Mk.6 mains conditioner was in action at the Bristol Sound and Vision show and helped Neat Acoustics win the BFA Best Stereo Demonstration award. Neat used a clever combination of acoustic panels and the James Audio power conditioner to overcome some of the main barriers to good quality sound at a hi-fi show.

Benefits

Describing improvements in the performance of a hi-fi system is notoriously difficult and subjective. It is very difficult to rise above our own preferences and we generally buy the equipment we prefer from the choices available because we believe we are buying something that is more accurate or simply better than the rest.

The James Audio Mk6 Power Conditioner does not change the inherent sound of a hi-fi system - it simply allows it to perform more effectively. A Naim amplifier will still sound like a Naim amplifier, a Densen CD player will still be recognisable and Shahainian speakers will still fill the room in the same way. If your system provides pinpoint imaging and a vast soundstage, it's going to do this better with cleaner mains.

We've tried to articulate the sort of differences that you can expect and we've used sophisticated measuring equipment and many sets of ears in the development of the mains conditioner to ensure that what it does is positive rather than negative. To hear for yourself, please contact us.

One of the key benefits is that the music simply gets more enjoyable. It becomes easier to get drawn in and it's not unusual to find your feet tapping away to music you had previously just sat through. You may also find background instruments and details becoming better resolved and easier to follow since the noise floor is lowered and it becomes easier to pick out subtle details.

Because your amplification is no longer amplifying unwanted noise, you will experience reduced 'hardness' in the sound and in a well set up system, listening fatigue should be much reduced or eliminated entirely. This can also lead to much improved transient responses so that the music becomes more dynamic - for example drums appear to be hit more cleanly and precisely and bass notes become better resolved.
